Sheila M. Smith, Ph.D., PMP, earned a Ph.D. in business education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Smith earned a B.S. and MBA from Avila University in Kansas City, MO. In 2006, the designation of Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute was achieved. She has also acquired certifications in the areas of training and development and distance (online) education. Dr. Smith has published many articles in referred journals and conferences proceedings, as well as conducted leadership workshops. Currently, her primary research interests are in the areas of project management, information systems self-efficacy, leadership, and academic mentorship.
