Information Systems and Operations Management

No business can succeed without handling information effectively and managing operations efficiently. The programs offered by the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) provide excellent preparation, including one-of-a-kind, hands-on learning opportunities.

Enroll in one of our programs, and you’ll benefit from access to leading-edge technology and collaboration with faculty mentors on student-driven teams and projects, including the Network and Security Lab and the Cluster Computing Research Project—the only one of its kind in a business college.

Depending on how you’d like to manage important information, you can major in information systems or logistics & supply chain management or learn how to teach information systems by majoring in business and marketing education.  Learn more about our programs of study.

At Ball State, you will have special opportunities in studying abroad and working with professors to solve a business organization issue. As an ISOM major, your career opportunities (information systems, logistics & supply chain management, business and marketing education) are limitless in the information technology age.

We are part of the Miller College of Business with a variety of undergraduate, graduate, associate and certificate programs in all areas of business, from accounting to economics to finance and information systems.

In addition to top-notch instruction, we have great facilities and technology on a vibrant campus in Muncie, Indiana. We offer a supportive environment and living-learning communities for freshmen.
