Organizational Assurance and Information Security Center (OASIS)

In today's evolving world of technology, threats to security systems are becoming more and more prevalent. A need has arisen to develop and implement systems to secure the private and proprietary information of governmental, military, and commercial industries.

OASIS was created to meet this pressing need. It will provide a dedicated environment to encourage the development of expertise in both the theoretical and applied aspects of organizational assurance and information systems security.

Our Mission
The mission of OASIS is to develop and promote organizational assurance and information security through leadership in research, education, training, and application.

This mission will be accomplished by a dedicated team of faculty, staff, and students from multiple disciplines including the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM), the Center for Information and Communication Sciences (CICS), and the Department of Computer Science. Additionally, expertise from industrial technology, mathematical sciences, criminal justice, and political science as well as the College of Communication, Information, and Media (CCIM) will be crucial to developing a broad perspective on the issues addressed by OASIS.

Our Goals

We strive to:

  • be one of the leading academic institutions for research in organizational assurance and information systems security
  • work collectively with academic institutions and industrial and government organizations to advance the state of the art in organizational assurance and information systems security
  • provide an environment for education and training in organization assurance and information systems security

OASIS has broad-ranging, far-reaching implications for the security of modern organizations. As we look to the future of OASIS, and how the research, education, and practice that will be developed here impacts the nation, we are committed to:

  • providing students with hands-on learning experiences
  • providing experts in the field of organizational assurance to outside organizations
  • incorporating integrity and ethics into the curriculum
  • incorporating security assurance through multidisciplinary teachings
