Gain important experience and take up to 12 credit hours each semester and pay no tuition costs (some fees still apply) by working as a graduate assistant in the Department of Mathematical Sciences.
You’ll work 20 hours a week helping students in the computer lab, tutoring students in the Learning Center, assisting with research duties, or teaching a class. You’ll need to be enrolled full-time, taking at least 6 credit hours. Our department awards between 12 and 13 graduate assistant positions each year and supports a total of about 25 graduate assistants within the department. We begin reviewing applications February 1, so it’s important to complete the
department application process early.
We also offer special summer-only graduate assistant positions if you’re pursuing a mathematics education master’s degree. Complete a special online
application or download the application packet (PDF) by April 15 for first-round consideration for positions.
Duties are the same as academic year assistant positions. Find out more about
summer-only positions.
During the fall and spring semesters, you also can consider working as a graduate assistant in other departments throughout the university. You can view available positions and
