Sample Schedule

The major in actuarial science requires 59 hours and leads to a bachelor of science degree.  Below are two sample eight semester plans for the major, combined with the recommended "Foundations of Business for Actuarial Science and Mathematics Majors" minor, which will fulfill most of your Validation by Educational Experience (VEE) requirements.  The "Regular Track" plan provides a solid foundation in the mathematics and business education that you need to become an actuary and become prepared to take the professional exams. Sample Eight Semester Schedule - Actuarial Science (Fast Track).
Completes:

  • Actuarial Major,
  • Foundations of Business Minor,
  • Course Work for Five Actuarial Exams, and
  • Actuarial Validation by Educational Experience (VEE) Requirements.

Plan includes recommended timing to sit for specific actuarial exams.
