Every summer, the U.S. Department of Energy and NASA sponsor summer internships for undergraduate and graduate students in science, engineering, the mathematical sciences, and mathematics and science education. These 8- to 10-week internships typically pay $400 per week and include round-trip transportation from your home to the laboratory. In most cases, inexpensive housing is arranged by the sponsoring laboratory. Applications are normally due in February or March.
