Ann Wolfe earned her undergraduate music education degree from Salem College (Winston-Salem NC) where she was presented the June Louise Samson Award for excellence in music education. Her graduate music education degree is from James Madison University (Harrisonburg VA), and her Doctorate of Arts degree was earned at Ball State University.
Wolfe was an elementary band director at Anthony Seeger Laboratory School in Virginia, and a general music teacher as well as band instructor at East Elementary School in Pendleton IN. While at East Elementary, she was presented the CAMEO award for excellence in education from the South Madison Community School Corporation. Through this award she was able to commission a high school band piece by composer Michael Cunningham titled "Ohio River Medley."
At Ball State, Wolfe teaches classes that emphasize the integration of music in elementary, special education, and early childhood education classrooms. She enjoys working with university pre-service teachers and uses a variety of teaching methods and hands-on activities during lessons.
Wolfe was Director of Children’s Music at Hazelwood Christian Church for 21 years. During that time she organized and conducted the combined children's choirs for the autumn Muncie Community Thank Sing. Other community service include Board of Director membership in Muncie Ballet Studio, Hazelwood Christian Church, and Masterworks Chorale, the latter of which she served as president. She has volunteered at A Better Way shelter for women and is active in Muncie and Delaware County Clean and Beautiful monthly Saturday downtown clean-up events.
Other pursuits include long-distance running and being at the beck and call of her mostly rat-terrier dog, Petey.
