Performance Highlights
The School of Music at Ball State University has many award-winning student ensembles that have performed in many regional, national and international venues. The following is a listing of upcoming and recent tour performances:
Upcoming for Spring 2012
- The Ball State University Symphony Band will be performing at the Indiana Music Educators Association (IMEA) State Conference in Fort Wayne next Saturday (Jan. 21) at 4:00pm.
- The Ball State University Wind Ensemble will be performing at the opening concert of the 78th annual convention of the American Bandmasters Association – held in Indianapolis this spring.
- BSU Jazz Lab Ensemble will begin a 10-day tour of China on May 8th, 2012, including performances with the Beijing Jazz Orchestra.
- The Statesmen will travel to Morehouse College in Atlanta this April to perform at the Intercollegiate Men's Choruses National Seminar for an invited performance on April 13th, 2012.
Recent Tour Highlights
- The Ball State University Chamber Choir was in residence in January 2012 at the Bavarian Music Academy in Marktoberdorf, Germany; concerts in the Basilika at Altenstadt (Wed., Jan. 4th at 7 pm) and St. Jacob's Church in Markt Rettenbach (Fri., Jan. 6th at 4:30 pm); sight-seeing excursions in Bavaria (the Bavarian Alps; King Ludwig the II's Castle Neuchswanstein and Hohenschwangau; Dachau Concentration Camp; New Year's Eve in Munich; some students took the train to Salzburg, Austria).
