NOTES ABOUT CLINICAL AGENCIES

California

Ball State University will not extend its current contract with Sharp Healthcare.  None of their facilities may be used as a clinical site.

Colorado

Colorado students are advised that there may be potential agency contract issues when obtaining a Colorado agency agreement related to state workers’ compensation regulations.  The length of time for students to obtain an approved agency agreement may take longer than the normal process and may require additional pre-clinical steps.  It is also very possible that Ball State University will not enter into a contract with the Colorado agency of your choice.

Florida

Ball State University will not extend its current contract with BayCare Health System.  None of their facilities may be used as a clinical site.

Indiana

Ball State University will not extend its current contract with Women’s Health Advantage.  None of their facilities may be used as a clinical site.

Minnesota
Ball State University will not contract with Allina Health System.  None of their facilities may be used as a clinical site.

General

Students are strongly encouraged to have clinical agencies sign the standard Ball State University affiliation agreement. If that is not possible, students are advised that the review, revision, negotiation, and signing of a non-BSU affiliation agreement can significantly lengthen the time required to approve a clinical placement. As such, students are encouraged to start making tentative arrangements for clinicals approximately one semester in advance. To further counter the possibility that negotiations between BSU and a clinical agency may not produce a usable affiliation agreement, students are additionally encouraged to cultivate, well in advance, a possible back-up clinical agency for every semester.
