To be accepted into the master's program, you must be accepted to Ball State University's Graduate School. You can apply to the Graduate School online or download an application. You can review Graduate School admission requirements.
Each applicant is considered individually for admission to the School of Nursing for the master's program.
To qualify for admission you must:

Meet Requirements for admission to Graduate School & School of Nursing

Have an accredited Baccalaureate Degree.

Earned a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale OR a GPA of 3.0 in upper-division nursing in the baccalaureate program.

Have received credit for an undergraduate research course (at least 2 quarter or semester hours) with a grade of C or better.

Hold an unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the state of practice.

Have submitted to the School of Nursing, selected health screening requirements and related professional practice requirements.

Have satisfactorily completed the following upper-division baccalaureate nursing courses or equivalent for a total of 16 semester hours:
NUR 302 Nursing Foundations and Issues
NUR 404 Community Health Nursing
NUR 405 Management and Leadership
Six credit hours of directed electives (Courses selected will depend on master's track chosen; NUR 303 Health Assessment is a required course for the nurse practitioner track but can be taken as an elective.)
The School of Nursing admits students into the master's program three times a year. Deadlines for submission of all material are (February, June, and October).
