Methods of Delivery

You can choose what method of delivery best fits into your life. In addition to courses offered on our campus, we have several ways to deliver your education:

Online/Internet
Each course has its own Web site that you will log onto to obtain the course syllabus, communicate with your instructor and classmates, complete your homework, and receive announcements from your instructor. Some online courses are offered via Mediasite and include recorded lectures from the instructor's campus class. Students must have a high-speed Internet connection to view these online lectures.

Web Conferencing

These courses also use the Internet for delivery but are different than online courses. Professors teach live on our main campus in Muncie while being simultaneously video streamed through the Internet to your computer, so you must “attend” or view the course at a set time. Also, you must have a high-speed Internet connection, such as DSL, cable, or a T1 line to view these classes. You will be able to phone in, instant message, or e-mail questions to your professor during class.

Live, On-site
Often Ball State faculty travel to off-campus locations throughout the state to teach—the majority are located in the Indianapolis area.

Independent Learning
The name says it all. You learn on your own, independently. You may register for classes anytime during the year and select from nine-month and/or 10-week courses. Courses formats may be print, Internet, or a combination of the two. Only undergraduate courses are offered via this mode of delivery.
