We are proud to have sponsored the Indiana Epsilon chapter of Phi Sigma Tau Honor Society since 1994.

The objectives of the society are to

  • award distinction to students with high scholarship and personal interest in philosophy;
  • promote student interest in research and advanced study;
  • provide opportunities for publication of student research papers of merit;
  • encourage a professional spirit among those who have displayed marked ability; and
  • popularize interest in philosophy among the general collegiate public.

Phi Sigma Tau publishes Dialogue, a biannual journal for student contributions in all areas of contemporary philosophical research; the quarterly PST Newsletter with news of local chapter activities; and the National Alumni Chapter Bulletin for those who retain their membership after graduation.

To become a member of PST, you must meet the following criteria:

  • have sophomore standing
  • have completed (or registered for) at least two courses of philosophy
  • have achieved a GPA above 3.0

There is also a nominal membership fee.

Information regarding membership is communicated in February with new members formally inducted during Student Recognition Day in April.
