Counseling Minor - 15 hours With the approval of the Department of Counseling Psychology and Guidance Services, students may choose to pursue a minor in counseling. The minor fulfills partial elective courses for the Sport and Exercise Psychology program. To pursue the counseling minor, you must have completed 15 semester hours or 24 quarter hours of undergraduate psychology with a GPA of 3.0 in those courses. Students must also pass an ethics exam given in CPSY 606 and receive a grade of B or better in CPSY 606 and CPSY 644. Course required for the counseling minor include ONE of the following THREE Introductory courses: CPSY 600 - Introduction to School CounselingCPSY 603 - Introduction to Rehabilitation CounselingCPSY 605 - Introduction to Clinical Mental Health Counselingand the following: CPSY 606 - Pre-Practicum Interviewing SkillsCPSY 607 - Appraisal Methods in CounselingCPSY 621 - Theories and Techniques of CounselingCPSY 644 - Practicum in Counseling
