Cowan Students Chase Charlie After School
MUNCIE -- Students at Cowan Elementary School are on the run.
And that's a good thing.
The students are part of an after-school running program led by Ball State University.
The university received a $1,000 grant to create the program, which began in January.
BSU was one of six Indiana-based schools or nonprofit organizations to receive a UnitedHealth HEROES grant for developing specific programs to combat childhood obesity and encourage healthy lifestyles in their communities.
David Pierce, who is the sport administration program coordinator at BSU, applied for the grant. He started a similar program a few years back at Burris Laboratory School with another grant. Read More.
