Graduate Assistantships or Other Employment

If you are interested in graduate studies in our department, we invite you to apply for a graduate teaching or research assistantship.

This assistantship will allow you to pursue a full-time course of study leading to a master of science or master of arts in physics. The award will be approximately $10,155 for the academic year plus remission of tuition (some fees still apply). The award will be based on the strength of your grade point average (GPA), letters of recommendation, and optional interviews.

Minimum requirements:
  • a bachelor's degree in physics
  • an overall undergraduate GPA of 2.75
  • three letters of recommendation from faculty familiar with your academic performance and potential for success in advanced studies in physics

You will have the opportunity to participate in collaborative research projects such as condensed matter (nanoscience), high energy/particle physics, astronomy/astrophysics, low energy and applied nuclear physics, medical physics, and physics education.

For application information and/or materials, please contact Thomas Robertson.
