Observatory

Don't limit yourself to pictures you've seen in print or online. Come to our observatory and see the moon, planets, and stars in real time.

Our observatory contains telescopes of various sizes. Public nighttime open house visits are scheduled two to four times a year.

These are announced in the local newspapers, our online calendar, and by planetarium mailings. Daytime visits are often scheduled by school groups. Although the stars are not visible during the day, students can see telescopes and find out how they work.

The observatory holds only 40 people at a time, and at present, we regret it is not accessible to people who cannot climb stairs. Please dress appropriately as the temperature of the observatory is the same as that outside.
