Teachers College Licensing Information
Students will be guided by the outline of baccalaureate degrees and the Core Curriculum program of the Ball State University Undergraduate Catalog.
Teaching programs require additional courses in educational methods. The professional education courses are included in this listing. See the Department of Education Studies and the Teachers College for descriptions of these courses and other professional requirements of the teacher education program.
Please pay close attention to prerequisites! If you register for a course, but have not successfully completed its prerequisite, you will be dropped from the class.
The School Health Education program includes 41 hours of Ball State Core Curriculum, as well courses specific to the major. These specific courses include 41 hours of Professional Education courses and 29-31 hours of Health Education courses. Teaching majors must also choose the one additional distribution course from either the Humanities or Fine Arts categories.

Students who elect SOC 424 should take SOC 100 to satisfy a University Core Curriculum social and behavioral sciences requirement and the prerequisite for SOC 424.
