Susan Clark receives 2008 ASHA Service Award

Susan Clark, instructor of coordinated school health programs at Ball State, received the 2008 Distinguished Service Award from the American School Health Association at their National Conference in Florida on November 12, 2008. Clark oversees the School Health Education majors of the department and has coordinated department internship for the past five years. She also co-coordinates the Annual School Health Fair that brings over 450 elementary students from the Muncie area to Ball State to learn about healthy lifestyles and practices. This event also facilitates teaching opportunities for majors in the field of health education. In addition to her involvement with the Ball State community, Clark currently serves on the ASHA Board of Directors and as the Chari of the Professional Development Committee. She has been highly involved in ASHA for several years in many areas of service, including a number of committees and chair positions. Clark has for many years contributed professional publications to the Journal of School Health, in addition to presenting at conventions and conferences.

The Physiology and Health Science Department is very proud of Ms. Clark and her service to Ball State and ASHA.
