Have you ever wondered why people behave as they do? Psychology is a science that studies behavior and mental processes. Psychologists study individual differences in personality and cognitive abilities, social and biological influences on behavior, and changes that occur in people's behavior as a result of development and learning. The study of psychology can help you understand both your own motivations and the behavior of others.

The psychology major is designed for students with a variety of career goals. Some students seek employment immediately following graduation, while others use the degree as preparation for graduate study or a career as a high school social studies or psychology teacher.
