Educational Testing System
Major Field Exam
All psychology majors must take this exam. Your score on the exam does not affect your grade point average (GPA) or whether you graduate. We use the exam to assess the quality of our program, so it is important to us that you take it and do your best. The results provide evidence that we use to assure accrediting bodies that our program should be reaccredited.
Plan take the exam during the last semester you take psych courses. At the beginning of the semester, the undergraduate committee will select dates and times the test will be offered.
Signing up for the test
- Stop by the Advising and Resource Center (NQ120) to signup for the test. There, a staff member will review your DAPR to ensure you meet the requirements.
- If you need to take the exam early (for example, you will be on a full-time internship out of state or will be on a study abroad trip during your last semester), please contact Mary Kite, the Director of Undergraduate Studies.
- If you need special accommodations due to a disability, please notify us when you sign up.
