Joining the student organization of your discipline can help you
academically by adding to your classroom and clinical learning with discipline-specific activities
professionally by keeping you current on the latest news about your field as well as setting up networking practices and opportunities that may lead to internships and jobs
socially by hanging out with other students who have similar interests
financially through special savings for products or services
Our department has two student organizations:
The Student Academy of Audiology (SAA)
SAA is a national organization sponsored by the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) which serves as a resource for students pursuing a career in audiology. SAA provides information related to promoting and advancing the profession of audiology, education, and advocates for the profession.
National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA)
NSSLHA is a pre-professional membership association for students studying communication sciences and disorders. Whether you are an undergraduate or a graduate student, we encourage you to join the national group and our local NSSLHA. The local group meets monthly to plan educational and social events.
For information about our local group, contact the department at 765-285-8161. You can also visit the NSSLHA Web site.
