Our department serves a double duty. Not only do we teach you how to improve and help the lives of others, but throughout your time here, you’ll learn much more about yourself. As you work as an advocate and sometimes the voice for the voiceless, you may tap an inner strength you never knew you had.

Our curriculum is designed to help you work in a variety of social work backgrounds with a diverse group of people. Our department is also the oldest and largest accredited undergraduate program in the state. We are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and offer a bachelor of social work (BSW) and a minor in social work.

In our program, you will receive instruction from professors who have advanced degrees and have been in the field for several years. In addition, you will be immersed in the social work culture by completing a practicum during your last year.
