Graduate Assistantships
The Department of Sociology awards a limited number of graduate assistantships. Students receiving graduate assistantships receive total remission of tuition and a small stipend for living expenses. Students are responsible for paying dedicated student fees and health center fees. Graduate assistants work 20 hours per week helping faculty members with research and teaching responsibilities.
Students in sociology often have training and skills that make them strong candidates for graduate assistantships in other areas of the university. The Graduate School offers more information on assistantships and on financial aid.
If you are interested in a graduate assistantship, be sure to indicate your interest in your application materials.
