Dr. Ione Y. DeOllos joined the Ball State University faculty in 1994 after graduating with her Ph.D. from Arizona State University in 1993. Her dissertation topic was a theoretical investigation of homeless families. Since then, she has explored a number of different areas of the sociological landscape including the use of the computer and the Internet by older adults, and issues of caregiving facing the families of older adults. Her most recent areas of research are the transfer of credits by students and the study of globalization and human trafficking. She is currently teaching classes on race, theory, social movements, globalization, and environmental sociology.
