Ball State has strong, established relationships with the four school partners. The schools—Muncie Central High School, Muncie Southside High School, Anderson High School, Highland Middle School (Anderson)—are part of Ball State's Professional Development Schools.
As PDS sites, the schools are committed to teacher preparation, staff development, research, and student learning, qualities that will enhance the educational experiences of Ball State's Woodrow Wilson Fellows. Ball State faculty liaisons spend significant amounts of time interacting with students and teachers at the schools.
The teachers in the core math and science areas at the partner schools are skilled and knowledgeable. The majority have more than five years experience in the content area and current licensure. Fellows can learn from the teachers' experiences as they discuss ideas and educational concepts with someone who knows what it's like to be in the classroom.
