Application Schedule for Student Teaching

SUMMARY OF NEW STUDENT TEACHING APPLICATION PROCESS

During Fall 2013 and Spring 2014

FIRST SUBMISSION DATE: September 2012

  1. Students planning to student teach in Fall 2013 or Spring 2014 must attend a mandatory informational meeting during the week of September 10th. Required paperwork will be initiated only during these meetings.
  2. Students must complete all Decision Point 2 requirements before applying.
  3. Complete the Philosophy of Education, online according to the instructions.
  4. Early Childhood Majors planning to student teach Summer 2014 may complete an application at this time.

SECOND SUBMISSION DATE: January 2013 (For students who missed September submission)

  1. Students must attend a mandatory informational meeting during January, 2013. Required paperwork will be initiated during these meetings. Student Teaching Application meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 4-5 p.m. in AJ 175 (cap 219); and Thursday, Jan. 24, from 9 - 10 a.m. in AC 114.
  2. Students must complete all Decision Point 2 requirements before applying.
  3. Complete the Philosophy of Education, online according to the instructions for student teaching. The deadline for this application will be announced at the upcoming meeting in January.
  4. Early Childhood Majors planning to student teach Summer 2014 should complete applications at this time.

THIRD SUBMISSION DATE: April 2013 (For Spring 2014 student teaching only)

  1. Students planning to student teach in Spring 2014 who have not previously completed the application process must attend a mandatory informational meeting during the week of April 22, 2013.
  2. Students must complete all Decision Point 2 requirements before applying.
  3. Complete the Application Process before May 1, 2013.
  4. Early Childhood Majors planning to student teach Summer 2014 should complete applications at this time.

Note: Your application is not complete and the placement request cannot be sent to the schools until all required documentation has been submitted to the Office of Teacher Education Services.
