Application Schedule for Student Teaching

SUMMARY OF NEW STUDENT TEACHING APPLICATION PROCESS

During Fall 2012 and Spring 2013

FIRST SUBMISSION DATE: September 2011

  1. Students planning to student teach in Fall 2012 or Spring 2013 must attend a mandatory informational meeting during the week of September 12th. Required paperwork will be initiated only during these meetings.
  2. Students must complete all Decision Point 2 requirements before applying.
  3. Complete Part I, the Philosophy of Education, online according to the instructions.
  4. Complete Part II, the curriculum application for student teaching, before September 23, 2011.
  5. Early Childhood Majors planning to student teach Summer 2013 may complete an application at this time.

SECOND SUBMISSION DATE: January 2012 (For students who missed September submission)

  1. Students must attend a mandatory informational meeting during the week of January 16, 2012. Required paperwork will be initiated during these meetings.
  2. Students must complete all Decision Point 2 requirements before applying.
  3. Complete Part I, the Philosophy of Education, online according to the instructions and then complete Part II, the curriculum application for student teaching, before January 27, 2012.
  4. Early Childhood Majors planning to student teach Summer 2013 should complete applications at this time.

THIRD SUBMISSION DATE: April 2012 (For Spring 2013 student teaching only)

  1. Students planning to student teach in Spring 2013 who have not previously completed the application process must attend a mandatory informational meeting during the week of April 23, 2012.
  2. Students must complete all Decision Point 2 requirements before applying.
  3. Complete Part I and II of Application Process before May 4, 2012.
  4. Early Childhood Majors planning to student teach Summer 2013 should complete applications at this time.
Note: Your application is not complete and the placement request cannot be sent to the schools until all required documentation has been submitted to the Office of Teacher Education Services.
