Clinic Advisory (Chair: Practicum Clinic Director) - handles the regular business of the Clinic, including staffing concerns, research requests, and practicum student issues.
Computer Competency (Chair: varies each year) – administers and scores the doctoral students' required computer competency exam.
Doctoral Program Admissions (Chair: Doctoral Program Director) – completes preliminary file evaluation and selection; handles broader administrative questions. Makes recommendations to the full faculty for consideration.
Graduate Studies Committee (Chair: Doctoral Program Director) – handles curricular issues, student work requests, and academic concerns for masters and doctoral students. Makes recommendations to the full faculty for consideration.
Masters Program Admissions (Chair: Community/Mental Health Program Director) – completes file evaluation and selection for the masters programs; handles broader program and administrative questions. Makes recommendations to the full faculty for consideration.
Multicultural Programming Committee (Chair: varies each year) – responsible for monitoring social climate in the Department. Also responsible for annual awards ceremony recognizing faculty and student contributions in research and practice.
Personnel (Elected) (Chair: varies each year) – responsible for orchestrating tenure-track and contract faculty searches for the Department. This includes recruiting the applicant pool, vetting candidates for interviews, organizing the interview, checking references, and making recommendations for hire. Makes recommendations to the full faculty for consideration.
Practitioner Skills (Chair: varies each year) – responsible for reviewing doctoral students' portfolios. Meets individually with each portfolio candidate to discuss the student's clinical work, research submissions, teaching evaluations, supervision evaluations, theory papers and any other work the student chooses to include in the final dossier.
Promotion and Tenure (Elected committee) (Chair: varies each year) – responsible for evaluating the dossiers of all candidates working toward tenure in the Department, then making recommendations to the University in this regard. Responsible for evaluating candidates for promotion and making recommendations to the University in this regard. Responsible for evaluating the Department Promotion and Tenure document each year and making recommendations to the faculty for approval.
