Special Education

Doctorate Degrees

The doctoral program is designed to meet the needs of advanced graduate students who would like to assume leadership roles in special education. These leadership roles may include administrative positions, such as:

  • teacher educator
  • special education manager
  • curriculum specialist

Graduates are also qualified to work as researchers/evaluators and to teach special education at the university level.

Upon successful completion the program, you will hold a doctor of education degree (Ed.D.) with a non-categorical major in special education; that is, with a generic training emphasis rather than a specific disabilities training emphasis.

For more information please contact Michael W. Harvey, doctoral program director.
