Major and Options

Our TCOM major is selective. Before you are accepted into the major, we call you a “pre-TCOM” student. Before applying to become a telecommunications major, you must complete the TCOM core courses with a grade of C (2.0) or better in each and an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 in the core courses. You must also demonstrate competency in language usage, grammar, and computer skills.

All pre-TCOM majors complete a departmental application and participate in a departmental orientation session. Once accepted, you select the area in which you’d like to focus your study with one of four options:

Digital Production

Emerging Media Journalism

Sales and Promotion
