Become a Digital Storytelling Master!

TCOM studentsDigital technologies allow storytellers to approach storytelling from a different perspective and to devise nontraditional story forms, such as nonlinear and interactive narratives.

Given its enormous potential, digital storytelling promises to play a significant role in a marketplace in need of nonlinear and interactive ways to craft stories, engage audiences, and influence their world.

As a student in this program, you will have access to the latest technologies and facilities, including a new digital newsroom, the Center for Media Design, nonlinear digital video editing and post-production equipment, high-definition digital filmmaking equipment, Dolby digital audio production studio, and more.

You will be encouraged to stretch the boundaries of storytelling as we have known them thus far. Plus, the program places an emphasis on developing an understanding of the storytelling process, becoming proficient in story design, and honing the skills needed to craft stories for new media.

The program lets you explore the rich process of story creation for digital media.

And it prepares communication professionals to have the multidisciplinary perspectives needed to effectively produce and manage content for a variety of digital media.

Funding for this program came in part through the Lilly Endowment Inc.
