We offer a limited number of graduate assistantships to incoming students. An assistantship is a job within the department. If you are awarded an assistantship, you receive a partial tuition remission (a reduction of the fees you pay so that you are responsible for only certain fees) and a stipend during the academic year. You work 20 hours per week assisting faculty with teaching, research, and/or administrative duties.
If you are admitted to one of our programs, but not offered an assistantship in our department, we will provide you with information about other assistantship opportunities on campus. Most students who want an assistantship are able to obtain one. Throughout the university, assistantships have similar duties and benefits.
