Connecting to Campus as a Commuter
The transition from high school to college can be challenging. Sometimes this change is especially difficult for students who commute their freshman year. Consequently, Freshman Connections created the Commuter Ambassador program to help commuting first year students.
To help you get the most from your college experience, Ball State has created Commuter Connections. Part of our nationally recognized programs for first-year students, Commuter Connections will help you become familiar with Ball State’s vibrant, welcoming campus and meet other freshmen, other commuters, and upper-level students.
In Commuter Connections, you will be teamed up with an upper-level student known as a Commuter Ambassador and a group of other commuters. Your ambassador will help answer questions you might have about Ball State, provide opportunities to hang out and meet other commuters, and hold special events during the semester. You will meet your Commuter Ambassador during Welcome Week, during Commuting 101 which is an event planned just for commuters.
The Commuter Connections program begins with Commuting 101, a mandatory event for all freshmen commuters.
Applications are now closed for the 2014 - 2015 Commuter Ambassador position. Interviews will be conducted on April 8 & 9, with job offers going out before April 14th.
