Core Curriculum Tutoring

The Learning Center offers free Supplemental Instruction (SI) and tutoring in various core curriculum classes.

Core Curriculum tutors offer:

  • course content tutoring for most Core Curriculum classes
  • a wide range of study skills materials

Tutoring is provided by appointment only. Permanent weekly appointments are also available so a student can meet with the same tutor in the same time slot each week throughout the semester. Tutors are available for the following courses. Please call us if your course is not listed below.

Study groups are arranged per request.

How can a tutor help me?
A tutor can help you:

  • learn appropriate study skills for specific classes
  • review and discuss course content
  • review your lecture notes - fill in the holes and gaps
  • comprehend textbook materials
  • prepare for quizzes and tests
  • teach you test-taking strategies

To assist your tutor:

  • attend all class meetings
  • bring syllabi, class notes, and textbooks to tutoring session
    • arrive on time. sessions start on the hour
