Registration Process for Students Needing Accommodations

The Writing Proficiency Program partners with the Office of Disabled Student Development to ensure that eligible students are provided appropriate testing accommodations.

If you have any questions about your eligibility for accommodated testing, contact the Office of Disabled Student Development at (765) 285-5293

Follow the Check-off list below to sign up and find the documents you need for the Exam:

_____ CHECK your eligibility: You MUST have have the following:

  • completed at least 60 credit hours
  • have credit in ENG 104 or its equivalent
  • be registered for accommodated testing with the Office of Disabled Student Development.

_____ REVIEW the articles being used for the exams.
_____ NOTE the name and section number of the article you wish to work with.
These are listed above the titles and citation information of the articles.
_____ REGISTER for the exam using SSBanner's Registration during the published registration
          period.
_____ BRING to NQ 336 (Writing Proficiency Program Office) a copy of the letter you received from
DSD.  This letter lists the testing accommodations for which you are eligible.  We will let you
know how your exam will be handled once we receive this letter.

If we do not receive your letter at least 5 days before the first exam of a cycle, we will not have enough time to prepare your exam.  In this case, you should not expect to receive testing accommodations.

_____ PRINT off the registration material for the exam for which you are registered, and
           review the information.

To find the appropriate Registration Letter, you should go to the Writing Proficiency Exam link on Blackboard. Your letter number corresponds with the section number for which you have registered

For example, if I signed up for WPP392 01A, I would need to print off the 01 Letter. Your registration letter contains important information about the exam, so do print it off and keep it.

If you have questions about registration, email writingcomp@bsu.edu or call Becky Amato at 765-285-2385.

If you have any questions about your eligibility for the exam, contact Dr. Anna Priebe at 765-285-8464

IMPORTANT NOTES.

Because lab space is limited, no late registrations or exchanges can be made once the registration period has ended.

You will be counted with an attempt if you are registered for an exam at the close of the registration period.
