Althea Stoeckel Award for Distinguished Service Established in 1991, the Althea Stoeckel Award for Distinguished Service is given as a symbol of enduring friendship and a recognition of outstanding contributions toward the goals of the women's and gender studies program at Ball State University. It is awarded annually to a student, staff, faculty, administrator, or community member who has consistently made support of the women's and gender studies program a high priority.
