Educational Leadership

Graduate programs in the Department of Educational Leadership are designed to help you succeed in educational leadership roles in both school and community settings. The programs are based on high standards of excellence, innovation, applied research, and service and lay the groundwork for careers as school principals, administrators, and superintendents. 


Educational Psychology
Through the study of human development, memory, learning, and cognition in educational settings, graduate programs in the Department of Educational Psychology guide you in the discovery of how and why individuals learn. Areas of focus include school psychology and gifted and talented studies. You'll be exposed to an extensive range of outstanding study, research, and service experiences—both academic and practical—in campus, school, and community settings. 


Educational Studies
Graduate programs in the Department of Educational Studies prepare you to assist secondary and middle school students, university students, and adult learners in their lifelong discovery of knowledge. Our programs provide you with the information, expertise, and understanding you need to reach your educational goals while fostering your personal and professional growth. 


Elementary Education

The Department of Elementary Education offers a variety of outstanding programs that focus on the education of children from birth through elementary school, plus reading education through adulthood. Each program is based on high standards of excellence, innovation, applied research, and collaboration.


Special Education

Special education provides limitless opportunities to engage families and influence their communities in helping students with exceptional needs to realize their potential. Ball State's Department of Special Education is one of the largest departments of its kind in Indiana and well respected in the field. Our programs are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills essential to attain successful outcomes for children with disabilities.
