Professional position available July 1, 2013.
Responsibilities: Provide leadership in the assessment, title selection processes, and licensing of digital and print resources by formulating, articulating, and managing the direction, balance, and focus of the University Libraries’ collections to support learning, teaching, and research.
Minimum Qualifications: MLS/MLIS/MIS degree from an ALA accredited program; three or more years of experience in collections development, collections management, acquisitions, or similarly related activities in an academic library; working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office applications; supervisory experience; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work some evenings and/or weekends.
Preferred qualifications: Additional advanced degrees; knowledge of the print, non-print and electronic publishing and trade industries, current issues and trends in library collections development and information delivery/access, electronic resources and related copyright/licensing issues, resource sharing and preservation; experience with library budgets; familiarity with an online integrated library system; ability to work with a variety of foreign languages. Salary up to $70,000 plus excellent benefits.
