University Libraries' Mission Statement

The University Libraries’ mission is to support student pursuits for academic success and faculty endeavors for the creation of knowledge.

The mission spans three objectives:

  1. To support the University’s mission of teaching, scholarship, and public service through the collections of rich informational materials and the services of its highly trained personnel.
  2. To provide an intellectual environment that creates the opportunity for any student, faculty, or staff member to explore the University Libraries’ collection of local and globally accessible recorded knowledge to satisfy his or her own needs.
  3. To provide a range of proactive programs, services, and collections in a comfortable environment of facilities and technology for integrating library and computer application services to support teaching, learning, and research.
