In 1982 the Branch, working in partnership with the Muncie Park and Recreation Department, initiated the White River Park Beautification Project.

Women`s Auxiliary of Indiana Society of Professional Engineers

Members, ca. 1960

The Auxiliary’s Muncie Chapter was organized in 1958 with 12 members. Its purpose was “to promote public interest in the Professional Engineer and his place in society” and to support the interests of the engineering profession. As the group’s 1969 membership invitation explained, “The main purpose …is to stimulate interest in our husbands’ profession…and discover that many of our own problems as engineer wives are mutual problems.” Auxiliary members attended the men’s monthly dinner meetings and supported scholarships for engineering students.
