Finding Aids

Finding aids are detailed inventories, registers, indexes, and guides to describe collections of primary source materials. They provide a comprehensive overview of a collection's scope and contents. They define the conditions under which a collection may be accessed or copied, explain its provenance, and contain histories of individuals and organizations connected with the collection.

Use finding aids to learn more about rare books and literary manuscripts, sources for Middletown research, historic photographs and local history resources, Ball State's history, and Indiana's built environment.

Finding aids are fully searchable using Google Advanced Search. To use this function, visit Google Advanced Search. Under the field “search within a site or domain," you will need to place the base url for finding aids: http://bsu.edu/libraries/archives/findingaids . Enter your search terms in the appropriate search field.
