Physical Processing

It is also the duty of MADI to prepare and preserve the physical materials housed in the library. As such, MADI also processes all incoming items, creates and affixes scanning barcodes to the assets, and otherwise prepares them for Ball State students, faculty, and other library patrons. Physical Processing activities also encompass the preservation of these materials, including repair and upkeep – ensuring that the materials we invest in will circulate and remain usable for as long as possible.
