Helen B. and Martin D. Schwartz Digital Complex
An innovative and interactive learning and teaching environment, the Helen B. and Martin D. Schwartz Special Collections and Digital Complex is dedicated to serving the educational advancement of the students of Ball State University.
Located at the south entrance of Bracken Library, the Schwartz Complex provides a space that digitally connects students and faculty to the numerous digital media assets and special collections available through the University Libraries, and also serves as a digital newsstand, providing access to international media, broadcasts, podcasts, and multimedia.
The Schwartz Complex also serves as an innovative and flexible space for fostering an undergraduate research culture. Three areas make up the Schwartz Complex: the Gallery and Outside Seating Area, the Viewing Room, and the Learning Pod Room. Ball State faculty and students may reserve either the Learning Pod or Viewing Room.
The Gallery and Outside Seating Area are always available while Bracken Library is open. Comfortable seating allows students to gather in front of laptops or work offline, where they can watch international news and current events on the display screens. A Microsoft Surface encourages exploration of digital exhibits about Ball State's history and current programs.
