Academic Services

One of the best things about college life is that you are on your own. But that autonomy can bring unexpected challenges.

At Ball State, we offer a well-established academic support system that will help you address all kinds of issues. Here is just a sampling:

  • The Learning Center provides free tutoring, workshops, and supplemental instruction for many University Core Curriculum classes
  • University Libraries offers classes to learn how to use new computer programs and how to use research tools you probably haven’t even heard about yet
  • Advising Center has personalized, one-on-one academic advising support for all freshmen
  • Counseling Center offers two important services to students: 1) psychological counseling and 2) career counseling in the form of a career testing program, where you can learn what majors and minors best fit you, and take official tests such as the GRE and Praxis that will help advance your academic career
  • Career Center provides all kinds of career advising help as you explore your options for the future, and you can start planning the day you walk on campus. Plus, it is the best place to find on- or off-campus jobs.  For a more extensive list and descriptions of services, visit our Academic Advising area.
