New students arriving for Orientation must complete certain health requirements in order to register and attend classes at Ball State University. These include submitting a health history form, having an evaluation for tuberculosis, and providing documentation of prior immunizations and inoculations.
In addition, health care costs in the United States can be prohibitive. While all students are strongly encouraged to purchase health insurance for the duration of their stay, J visa holders are required to purchase the BSU endorsed coverage through HTH Worldwide. This coverage meets the minimum requirements determined by the US Department of State.
