Graduate Degrees

To be considered for admission as a degree-seeking student who is pursuing a graduate certificate or master’s degree through the School of Extended Education, you must fulfill these admission requirements:

1. Complete Two applications: 1) the Graduate School application, and 2) the application required by the academic department offering the degree program you wish to pursue.

  •  Academic department admission is a separate process from Graduate School admission, and can take several weeks to complete. Therefore, you should begin the admission process at least six weeks prior to the start of the term in which you’d like to begin study.

  • Nondegree (in contrast to degree-seeking status) or licensure status is also available.

2. Meet the requirements specific to your degree program (including the department application). These requirements are available online by program:

3. Pay the nonrefundable application fee of $25 if you earned a Ball State degree or $35 if you have not yet earned a Ball State degree. If applying by mail, make check payable to Ball State University.  If applying online, pay with a major credit card.

4. Arrange for official transcripts to be mailed to Ball State University, Graduate School, Muncie, IN 47306.
