If you are a
Perkins Loan borrower, the federal government requires you to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) if you are a first-time borrower and to go through an exit counseling session before you leave Ball State. Read how to do each of these below:
Master Promissory Note
Your FAFSA PIN number is required to complete this process. If you do not have a valid PIN, you must request one at the Department of Education's PIN site at
http://www.pin.ed.gov.
- Log on to ECSI's website at https://www.ecsi.net/promz8
- Confirm your Social Security Number. Add your permanent address, date of birth, telephone number, and your Driver's License number (if you do not have a Driver's License, state so in box).
- When requested, provide your PIN on the Student Authentication Network page.
- Most pages require that you accept the terms by checking a box at the bottom.
- You must provide complete reference information of yourself, your next of kin (a relative), and two additional references. Failure to complete all lines will hinder the disbursement process.
- Completely read the Promissory Note. Once you have read it you must electronically sign it at the bottom of the page. The electronic signature includes a check-off box plus your full legal name.
Exit CounselingExit interview counseling is designed to prepare you for the repayment of your student loan(s), provide you with detailed information regarding deferment and/or cancellation privileges, and to assist you with personal financial management.
To complete your online exit interview, please access ECSI's Web site at
www.ecsi.net:
- Click on "Borrowers"
- Click "Login to My Account" and enter the following information:
- School Code: Z8
- Account number: Social Security Number
- PIN Number: Number assigned to borrower by ECSI
- Click the "Exit Interview" option
- Click the "Exit Interview" button to begin the process
