The procedure for reapplication for doctoral practicum students who are currently in the process of completing the Counseling Center's clinical doctoral practicum for the current year will be as follows:
- Practicum students should write a letter addressed to the coordinator of the doctoral practicum indicating their desire for additional training.
- The above letter should be submitted no later than the annual deadline set for applications for new doctoral trainees (refer to Application Procedures for Clinical Positions for current deadline).
- The above letter should specify what type of training the practicum student wishes to pursue (i.e., clinical and/or outreach) as well as the specific time period requested (e.g., academic year or semester).
- Please note that returning practicum students are expected to attend orientation for the advanced practicum. For this purpose, students need to reserve 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, the week prior to the beginning of the fall semester.
Upon receipt of this letter, the Counseling Center's Training Committee will review the applicant's current practicum evaluations and consult with supervisors before making a decision whether to invite the student back for additional practicum experience.
