| Phi Kappa Psi was founded on February 19, 1852, at Jefferson College in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Displeased with the other options available, and spurred by caring for their classmates after a typhoid fever epidemic, the two founders created Phi Kappa Psi based on the idea of "the great joy of serving others" and with the intent to become a national organization. - Founded at Ball State: December 1, 2011
