Alternative Breaks

The Ball State University fraternity/sorority community has regularly participated in Alternative Breaks. This allows the opportunity for fraternity and sorority members to reflect on their values and live them out through service and active citizenship.

Since 2008, with the founding of Greek Alternative Spring Break, the Ball State Greek community dedicated itself to promoting its members' participating in opportunities. In 2012, the Greek community shifted to promoting Greek participation in the Office of Student Life’s Alternative Fall and Spring Breaks as opportunities for Greeks to live out their values, and interact with other members of the campus community.

Alternative Breaks are also available for members of the Greek community to participate in through Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values, which does service immersion trips over winter, spring, and summer breaks.
