Sorority Housing

Members of Alpha Gamma Delta, Phi Mu and Sigma Kappa have lived in university-owned alcohol-free houses on Riverside Avenue since January 2008. Kappa Delta moved into a house in January 2009. Sorority houses didn’t exist before then.

These sororities used to have suites in DeHority residence hall complex but were forced to find a new home when the building was renovated in 2007.

An open house was held on January 31, 2008. Ball State President Jo Ann Gora spoke on the chilly afternoon about the members of these organizations being trailblazers for a new kind of sorority life at Ball State.

The sororities will live in the houses until a final decision is made about the future of sorority housing at Ball State. The ultimate goal is to create a long range plan that is suitable to all Panhellenic sororities at Ball State.

The 2009-2010 cost of living in the sorority houses ranges from $2,813 to $4,050.00 per semester depending on the amenities included. In addition, all women residing in the houses are required to purchase a university meal plan.
